The Tuffer PUFfeR, South Africa’s only 100 mile trail run. It will start from Ferryman's on Friday 26th August 2011 at 08:00. Runners will make their way to Cape Point and back to Ferryman's via the Puffer route. Only previous PUFfeR finishers or runners with similar credentials qualify for entry. . PUFFER
PLEASE NOTE NEW ROUTE DETAILS: The Tuffer Puffer route will start at Ferrymen's Tavern and be the same as the route for the Puffer in reverse, except for the following:
When Runners run down Red Hill and have passed the Redhill Informal Settlement, they will not go towards Cape point, they will turn right at the Perdekloof Interchange and head through Scarborough and Misty Cliffs and up the initial stages of the Slangkop Pass.
900 meters after the Ocean View / Soetwater Interchange they will turn around at a small tarred layby and head back to the Perdekloof Interchange. This layby is a small layby, only large enough for three cars.
When the runners arrive back at the Perdekloof Interchange, they will turn right and proceed in the direction of Cape Point but pass and not enter the turn-off to the Cape of Good Hope Section. Runners will then proceed past Smitswinkelsbay, Millerspoint, Murdock Valley, Froggy Pond, through Simonstown.
When runners arrive at the Red Hill turn-off, they will turn left and proceed up Red Hill as far as Pine Haven where they will turn right towards the Lewis Gay Dam and continue with the same route as for the Puffer.
