Training Runs

Saturday 8 August 2009:

We are coming to the end of our Puffer runs, with only the Escape Route still to be done. This is the bit from Constantia Nek to Tafelberg Road, following the Contour Path. If we feel energetic,we might even come back over Table Mountain, but besides this option the route should be quite straight forward.

Who: Puffer runners and friends.
What: Bring wind / waterproof top, water to drink on the run, snax. Beer for afterwards.
Where: Meet at Constantia Nek in the parking lot on the opposite side of the circle from the Restaurant.
When: In time to start running at 08H00.

Sunday 2 August 2009:

Our Puffer training schedule says Silvermine to Ferryman’s, so that’s what we will do. This is a fairly long run, and although we will be going at our usual humble pace, it is best that all concerned are sort of Puffer fit. Of course, if anybody just wants to do a part thereof, give me a shout. Being a point to point run, we will be shuffling cars again. If you can offer lifts / want lift please give me a shout.

Who: Puffer entrants and suchlike people, or others who just want to shuffle along until Level 5 or so.

What: Wind / waterproof kit, snax, warm clothes for finish.

Where:

Waterfront parking: As you drive down Portswood road in the same direction as you would when finishing Puffer, turn left at the last road just before the circle at the entry to the Waterfront at the BMW place. Park there somewhere – it’s free.

Silvermine start: As you drive up Oh Kaapse Weg from the Fish Hoek side, turn left at the top. Flash your Wild Card, and continue up to the dam parking lot.

When:

Waterfront: Leave at 07H30.

Silvermine: Start running at 08H15 (or so – the gate opens at 08H00).

Please note:

1) There is no cell phone reception at Silvermine, so make your moves early.

2) We have to get our cars out of Silvermine before 18H00.

3) Emails to me are not guaranteed to be read in time – please phone or SMS.
