Peninsula Ultra Fun Run

running in heaven, feeling like hell

Text Box: Thank you very much Puffer team, it is always the wild ones that are the most memorable and that wind sure was wild. I am delighted to have made the Constantia Neck cut-off and to have finished, and got my permanent number. I must say I was very grateful for the re-route yesterday. After battling the wind at Cape Point I was not looking forward to going up. I do feel a little cheated by the weather gods though, as 2 out of my 3 Puffers were re-routes, and 3 out of 3 the cable car was not running for the Pinenuts! What on earth did I do to deserve that? Would love to get a chance to run a "normal weather" Puffer one day! Thank you for the superb organisation, and to all the sponsors (very cool shirts and trophies), helpers, water tables, family and friends, a HUGE THANK YOU, I could not have done it without you! To the whole Puffer Team – thank you for putting on an awesome day out there.
It was my first (hopefully not last) and something I’ll remember and savour for many years to come. You truly appreciate this amazing place we all live in when you’re out there.
Once again – thanks for everything.
Cheers
John

Just a short note to say thanks for a huge day!  I am sure you get some grumbles but from my side it was one of the highlights of my calendar to complete a 3 year plan.  Although I must say that going round did not bother me as I had never run that before it just means that I have to do again next year to go over the mountain!!!
Will there be a posting of results and number of finishers?  Only reason I ask is that I do these things for charity and would like to provide some stats, the where and what I did for the guys that put up the money.
Anyway thanks again for a great great day.
Regards
Pete

Thank you once again for another great Puffer.  Well done to you and your team on organising another great run.  It was truly enjoyable and fantastic to be out on the mountains on Saturday.  I have been trying to think of why I love the Puffer so much and I truly believe it is because the people who organise Puffer and who run Puffer are so special.
I can’t believe that I have to wait another year for the next one.
Kind regards,
Mark
P.S. Please tell the good people at Hi-Tec that the shirts are great – and much appreciated.

Although remarkably better than my attempt in 2008, 2010 just wasn't meant to be.
The 53km to Constantia Nek were tough and the emotions were running high upon reaching the Nek after the cut-off.
Puffer remains illusive and I bow to all those that made it and to everyone that didn't make it too. Thank you for a well executed race, to the friendly faces at each water-point and the encouraging words along the way.
Greg and I are heading over to New Zealand for a couple of years. We will embark on a secret training mission and in the future will hopefully have a Puffer finishing rock on our mantle.
All the best,
Ashleigh

Just a word of thanks for an excellent organised race on Saturday. It’s always tough but the feeling when you have made it remains much longer than the pain. (Especially the section up Platteklip). Well done I enjoyed it a lot. Keep up the good work. Frik Nelson

I would like to thank you for giving me  the chance to be part of a most awesome race. The race will go down as one of the best i have ever done. Thanks to all the guys out there in terrible weather manning the water tables you did an amazing job especially the two people in a small tent and the guys at signal hill. The only bad thing is that i have to wait a year to do it again.
Thanks again for an amazing day
See you next year
Thanks

Thank you for allowing me a taste of the Puffer experience, even though it proved to be just a tiny morsel. Unfortunately I was hit by a nasty, viral bug, which started awakening at around the 6km mark, becoming more and more persistent as the road wore on, causing me to eventually bail at Gay's Dam. Sad I am, but not devastated, as my training has brought me such joy, and advanced my running greatly. I've had the taste and hope you'll allow me to line up at the start next year for a full blown Puffer, thereby earning my Ferryman's dessert J.

Thanks for the enormous amount of time and effort you all continue to put in to bring this awesome event together, year after year.

Hi Tec Puffer Team
Just big thanks for a great event. Despite some bad blisters (a mix up between my road/trail shoes and orthotics) that forced me to bail at Silvermine, I still enjoyed it very much.
I hope to be back next year to finish the job.
Kind Regards

Just thought that I had to drop you a line and to thanks for a most awesome Puffer. It was probably one of the hardest things that I have ever done and just finishing it rates right up there next to my first ironman finish. I was cold, wet, tired and very sore but so happy to have finished. It was a real privilege to have run the puffer. I just want to thank you, all those who helped you put this race on and especially all those truly fantastic people who were still there, still enthusiastic and still had plenty of food even when my running partner and I trundled through. A special mention has to go to the two people who were at the check point on the mast tar road at the turn of to Vlakkenberg, two people in a lean-to in very foul weather and they were still smiling!
Unfortunately we could not go over the to but this is just more motivation to try and gain an entry to next years race.
Once again thanks for a most spectacular Puffer!
Kind Regards

Thanks for an awesome and, as always, superbly organised Puffer! It was a wonderful race, even in the lousy weather, and the seconding tables were brilliant – please pass on my thanks to all of them, they certainly make the race a lot easier with their incredible enthusiasm and support – and their willingness to be out there in cold and unpleasant weather is always greatly appreciated. The hot tea and leg massage from the Pinenuts was memorable! It is always a very special and moving event when one finally crosses the finish line, and this year was no different. Thanks again to both you and Martin and all the other helpers and organisers – you are all brilliant and the Puffer remains one of the finest events on the calendar!
Cheers Guy
